Stikii is just SO “Pinteresting”!

For those of you a bit confused by the statements above, they come from an international craze by the name of “Pinterest”.  Pinterest is probably the most talked about social website in the world right now. It continues to grow every day, driving traffic from a multitude of countries, filled with people who just can’t seem to stop “pinning” what they like!

Pinterest is a Virtual Pinboard social photo sharing website that allows users to create and manage categorized collections such as Women’s Apparel, DIY and Crafts, Home Improvement and more! Pinterest allows you to organize and share all the beautiful things that you stumble across on the Internet. The collections of photos are called “pinboards” and are often used to plan weddings, organize recipes, and put together trendy outfits.

One of the best features of Pinterest is that it allows users to browse other users’ pinboards for inspiration. If you find something you like on someone’s board, simply “re-pin” the images to your own collections. You can also choose to “like” photos, comment on pins or simply to follow a user. Browsing pinboards allows users to discover new ideas that they otherwise would have never found, and to connect with people who share the same interests.

Pinterest’s mission is to “connect everyone in the world through the things they find interesting”. If you ask us, that is a pretty darn good mission, and Pinterest seems to be well on their way to achieving this goal.

First launched as a closed beta site in March 2010, Pinterest has since grown to attract over 10 million unique monthly visitors and was named as one of Time Magazine’s “50 Best Websites of 2011.” This a major accomplishment for a team of 16 out of Palo Alto, California.

So why might Stikii be attracted to using Pinterest? Probably for the same reasons you are, and then some! We love to share our interests with others as well as to discover new interests on a daily basis. Sharing is such a wonderful tool. Also, Pinterest is becoming one of the top traffic drivers for retailers. The pinboards are just another mechanism for us to create a Buzz around our brand and to share our product with users.  Pinterest allows us to pin photos of our product onto a board, which is then shared with millions of users. Many are unaware of our product and its great attributes, but may stumble upon it as they browse through various boards. It is a great tool for Stikii to showcase its one-of-a-kind product to the world.
