Happy Anniversary Stikii!
December 2012 marks Stikii’s one-year anniversary of being in the shoe business, and oh what a year it has been! The past 365+ days have been a whirlwind of excitement, shoe sales, surprise and gratitude. So much has happened and we have so very much to be thankful for. In celebration of this milestone, we thought we would take a look back at the last 12 months (and those leading up to it) and reflect on all the good things that have happened for Stikii. This may take a moment, but we hope you will “stik” around and reminisce in the memories that are the Stikii Anniversary Timeline!
July 2011
July 25 – Stikii Blog Debuts!
Stikii creates and posts its first blog announcing the product to the public.
September 2011
September 9– Stikii Rap Music Video Hits YouTube
In the end of August 2011, the Stikii team wrote, choreographed and filmed a rap music video that went viral on YouTube. Music and lyrics were recorded by our very own Tony Martinez! The hit video what featured local kids donning Stikii shoes, and now has nearly 4,000 views!
November 2011
Stikii Introduces Shoe Colors & Personalities
Stikii announced the names of their fun and vibrant shoe colors via blog posts during the last few weeks of November. The shoe family was made up of Playful Purple, Busy Brown, Groovy Green, Righteous Red, Peaceful Pink, Bubbly Blue, Powerful Pink and Brilliant Blue. Each shoe has their very own rhyme which helps our young Stikii fans to differentiate them!
December 2011
December 1 – Stikii Website goes Live, Shoes are Available for Pre-sale
On December 1, 2011 Stikii launched its e-commerce website that allowed customers to browse the site, utilize the “build-a-shoe” application and pre-order shoes! This day is considered Stikii’s grand opening!
December 13 – Stikii Shoes Arrive
Stikii’s first shipment of shoes arrived at the show room just in time for the holidays
December 15 – Stikii Opens First Retail Kiosk at Westfield Franklin Park Mall
The Stikii kiosk opens during normal mall retail hours and served as Stikii’s first physical point-of-purchase.
Stikii + St. Catherine of Sienna Food Drive
Stikii teams up with local St. Catherine of Sienna school to put together a food drive for those less fortunate. The classes competed against one another to see which class could collect the most non-perishable food items. The winning class received a pizza party, a pair of Stikii shoes and two random Stik-em accessories courtesy of Stikii.

Stikii’s one-of-a-kind mode of transportation hits the streets of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

Stikii Showroom Opens
The Stikii Showroom, decorated in Stikii Green & white, opens at the corner of Central Avenue and Holland-Sylvania in Toledo, OH.
January 27 – Stikii Teams with Stride Rite
Stikii shoes were added to the shelves of local Stride Rite stores offering customers more ways to shop

February 1 – Stikii Facebook Page Reaches 1,000 Fans
With the help of our favorite Facebook friends, Stikii’s Facebook page reached 1,000+ fans!
February 2 – Stikii Makes Headlines
Stikii makes the front page of Footwear News, a national footwear publication.
February 10 – Stikii Expands to Michigan
Stikii shoes teamed up with Martin’s Shoe House of Monroe, MI to increase its market share
February 21-23 – Children’s Great Event Shoe Show
Stikii traveled to Teaneck, NJ to showcase our shoes at this national shoe show! The event was a huge success and Stikii made several new contacts. Attendees of the event included big names such as Timberland, Stride Rite, KSwiss, Steve Madden, Polo, Kenneth Cole, Keds, DKNY, Guess Kids, Hello Kitty/Sanrio, Crocs and so many more! Stikii was honored to be a part of something so widespread.
March 2012
March 7 – Stikii Enters Walmart’s “Get on the Shelf” Contest and Voting Begins
Contest winners would have their product on the shelves of Walmart stores across the country! Stikii debuts their campaign to win – “When Stikii Wins, Ohio Wins”, which focuses on bringing more jobs to Ohio, boosting the local economy, etc. Campaign Committee members included some of Toledo’s very own celebrities like Mayor Mike Bell, Kelly Heidbreder, Pretty Boy Bam Bam and more!
March 9 – Stikii goes to School
Stikii sponsors and attends Whittier Elementary School’s PTO Bingo/Nacho Night. Stikii helped the school to raise money and passed out tons of goodies to the students attending.
March 18 – Stikii Sponsors Local Gymnastics Meet
Stikii, our giant inflatable shoe, and the Stikii Mobile set up shop at Sunrise Gymnastics Academy in Sylvania, OH and were recognized as corporate sponsor for the meet!
March 26 – Stikii Crosses the Ocean
Stikii expands internationally with products now available for sale in Russia!
April 2012
April 15 – Stikii Marches for Babies
The Stikii team joins “Cayden’s Crew and Max Too” at the Toledo March for Babies in downtown Toledo.
April 28 – Stikii Partners with Zulily
Stikii is listed in Zulily’s (a huge national online retail store geared toward kids and moms) online sales event as a featured product!
April 29 – Toledo Baby, Child and Family Expo
Stikii exhibits at one of the area’s largest celebrations of expecting parents and families with children. The event included the “Cutie Patootie” contest, a fashion show, dance numbers, and more!
May 2012
May 2 – New Stik-ems
Stikii introduces its new line of Stik-ems, the Letters & Numbers series.
May 5 – Walk ‘n Roll for Spina Bifida
Stikii walks alongside “Coley’s Roleys” at the local Walk ‘n Roll for Spina Bifida fundraiser. Coley is a special friend of Stikiis – Stikii shoes actually fit over his leg braces!
June 2012
Stikii Joins a Star-studded Shoe Drive
Stikii pledges to help the 2nd Annual Summer Shoe Drive for those less fortunate in Charlotte, NC. Celebrity volunteers included Chad Johnson, Mya, Jeff Otah and others.

Stikii turns its focus to the kids IN the shoes!
June 1 – Stikii’s 6 Month Anniversary
Stikii has been in business six months on this day, and they are still as thankful as ever to the Toledo community!
June 16 – Stikii Hits the Runway
Stikii kids model our shoes for the “Rip the Runway” fashion show devoted to raising money for the American Diabetes Association
June 20 – Stikii Joins Fab.com
Stikii kicks off its online retail event with Fab.com, one of Fast Company Magazine’s choices for Hot E-retailer of 2012.
July 2012
July 4 – Red, White & Shoe Drive
Stikii launches its First Annual Shoe Drive on the 4th of July at The Docks in
International Park! The shoe drive, which would last several months, focused on collecting shoes for those in need. The event included an Independence Day celebration made up of giveaways, music, food and fireworks (and a special surprise).
July 4 – Meet Chew Bear
Chew Bear, Stikii’s mascot and BFF, makes his grand entrance by skydiving into downtown Toledo during the Red, White, and Shoe event. Since then, Chew Bear has been a key player in the Stikii lifestyle and brand.
August 2012
August 15 – Chew Bear’s Adventures Begin
“The Creature in the Tree” the first of several Chew Bear Adventure blogs, hits the blogosphere.

September 30 – Shoe Drive Comes to a Close
Stikii’s First Annual Shoe Drive comes to a close after collecting over 1,000 pairs of shoes!

October 10 – The Pretty Things Event
Stikii takes part in The Pretty Things Event fashion show hosted by Elias Adian’s Comforting Hearts Inc.
October 15 – Stikii Expands its Shelves
Stikii is now available at Exceleration Gymnastics, Sparks Cheerworks, Kidz Stuff, Phat Gear, New Yorker Kid, Millenium Fashion, Athlete’s Foot, Opening Night, The Studio Shoppe, Fame Studios, Unique Studios, Shutter Love and Hot Kixx.
October 28 – Happy Birthday to Joe Chew and Chew Bear!
This date marks the birth of Stikii creator Joe Chew and everyone’s favorite dog-bear, Chew Bear. Happy Birthday!

November 11 – Stikii’s Shoe Giveaway
Remember those 1,000 pairs of shoes Stikii and the community collected? Well this was the day we gave them away at the South Toledo Community Center. Stikii helped to protect and warm the feet of nearly 380 local men, women and children!
