Stikii friends, as usual, we have been super busy and have much to update you on. AS you know, voting for Walmart’s “Get on the Shelf” contest has commenced. QR Codes (aka Quick Response Codes) are a new and interesting marketing tool – not to mention convenient. For those of you unfamiliar with these virtual barcodes, here is the 411.

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode readable by QR scanners, mobile phones with a camera and smartphones. Their ability to store large amounts of data makes them unique and practical for small businesses (like Stikii!). QR codes can be linked to data such as digital content on the web, to activate functions such as email, IM and SMS (this is how Stikii has incorporated the tool into their voting mix), or to connect the mobile device to a web browser. All the user must do is scan the code on their device and they will be transferred to the data location.

In other news, Stikii and its team continue to make headlines. On February 21, 2012, Stikii was featured in the Monroe Evening News. The article, titled Toledo man hopes Monroe helps propel shoe sales, discusses Joe Chew’s inspiration for the product, along with the introduction of Stikii shoes at Martin’s Shoe House in Monroe, MI. This article also appeared in the “Bedford Now” publication.

Along with Stikii, the Team’s Sales and Marketing Coordinator Tony Martinez (otherwise known as Tony Toledo) also made an appearance in the Monroe Evening News. His story, Local man finds his niche away from rap music, highlighted his background/history, accomplishments and his new adventures with Stikii.

During the interviews, Stikii conducted a photo shoot and set up displays in the window. A family came in during the interview and bought two pair right then and there! The mother followed up with us later on Facebook which was truly rewarding. We would like to thank Danielle Stanton for writing the stories.
