Stikii Gives Back!
Over the holidays, Stikii had the pleasure of working with the students attending St. Catherine of Sienna out of Toledo, OH. Stikii Inc., along with the students, worked very hard to put together a food drive for those less fortunate. As a children’s shoe company, Stikii believed that a service such as this would help to instill a giving and caring attitude in the hearts and minds of local youngsters. Children are very impressionable at a young age which makes encouraging and teaching them to care for others and their communities a very important lifelong value.
The event consisted of a class food drive competition for Preschool classes up to the 2nd Grade. Over a two day period, student brought in as many non-perishable food items possible. When the competition commenced, we found the percentage-based on the total items donated divided by the number of children in each class. This formula was used to determine the winner and also to keep the competition fair.
St. Catherine’s 1st Grade classes won the competition with an average of 6.2 items donated per student. This works out to be 124 total items donated by a class roster of 20 students. As reward for their effort, the winning class received a pizza party sponsored by Stikii and each individual child also received a free pair of Stikii shoes and two random Stik-em accessories. The student’s ordered their preferred color and shoe size through our website and they were delivered to the school along with the pizza. The pizza party went great and the students seemed to really love the shoes! They instantly started to trade the Stik-em’s as they were delivered which helped to confirm their purpose.
The student’s hard work and genuine concern with those less fortunate was inspiring to us at Stikii. It is great to see, at such a young age, kids really taking an interest in their community. This food drive competition was a pleasure to be a part of and we really enjoyed spreading the “Stikii Spirit”. We hope to participate in future events similar to this and many are in the works at this very moment. For more information on Stikii shoes and Stikii news/events, please visit www.stikii.com
