Stikii Makes Moves Movies

You’ve heard about it, thought about it, read about it and maybe even dreamed about it. The anticipation has been building up for weeks as you wait patiently to see the Stikii rap music video that we haven’t stopped talking about. Well, it is your lucky day! The video has FINALLY been released to YouTube and is set to start creating buzz at any given moment.

One question that I know has been on the minds of our followers is…..”Why YouTube?”. Why not release the video on television to run as a commercial advertisement. Or, why not burn the video to a CD to distribute as marketing collateral?  Why put it somewhere that is not going to bombard the audience and force them to tune in like many successful marketing programs in the past?? Well, let’s take a few moments to answer that question!

TV is obviously still one of the most popular media outlets around and marketers/advertisers will always have the need to display their products in the homes of millions each and every day.  For the older generation, this outlet will remain the main route for media to reach them but for the younger age range, there are better means to grab their attention. It is apparent that we are surrounded by technology and electronics wherever we go. It is exceedingly difficult to pry a young person or corporate executive from their cell phone because it allows them access to email, internet and text messaging whenever they may need it! We rely on the internet for so many things; it is no wonder that it is now a one-stop marketing highway! YouTube has mini clips that cover almost any topic imaginable and can be viewed anywhere with access to the Web. It’s the perfect place for communicating your message!

So why, you ask, is YouTube superior to television? The following outlines 10 reasons that will surely motivate you to jump on the viral video bandwagon.

  1. No need to be at home to view – you can view these messages anywhere with internet access and on your own time, when you are ready to listen!
  2. Wide variety of content – YouTube allows for a variety of content and topics. Almost anything (legal, of course) goes with this site. Pick a topic and search….that’s all it takes! YouTube also implements a tool that lists clips similar to those you have recently searched for maximum exposure.
  3. It’s FREE!!! – As long as you have a username and password, you can upload your videos to YouTube without paying a cent. Television advertisement can cost a fortune (especially if you want to reach your target audience every time the ad is run) and the more popular the program is in your desired time slot, the higher the price.  And with DVR, many people are no recording their programs just for the sake of fast-forwarding through the commercial. So, odds are that you won’t reach the number you aim for, thus totally wasting all of that money. On YouTube, people view your clip because they WANT to.
  4. Television is not as popular as it once was – There is now the option to watch television programs online, through network video streams or those that are uploaded by users. These often have few to zero advertisements.
  5. The advertising is more effective – Commercial break during a movie or TV show is prime time to use the restroom, grab a snack or catch up on your chores. People don’t tune into commercials like they used to.
  6. Repetition is the key to learning – With television, commercial are played a specific amount of time….whatever the advertiser prepaid for. With YouTube, the video is always available for play and can be watched as often as necessary.
  7. Consumer presence – Consumers are using the internet as a main research tool. They often use the Web for information on a product prior to purchasing. What they find can influence what they buy. This is where a YouTube advertisement shines.
  8. Less restrictive – Television censors a lot of content these days but with YouTube, if it’s legal, it goes (for the most part).
  9. Links can be sent from YouTube – You can share the video with anyone! If you stumble upon something interesting that you think your friends, coworkers or boss should definitely see, all you have to do is send them the link and they can view the clip! These videos can also be embedded in web pages, and posted to social media sites like Twitter and Facebook for maximum exposure.
  10. Anyone can put up a video – Young or old, no matter what language you speak, if you have access to the internet and a computer, you can post a video to YouTube. And the topic doesn’t have to be current or interesting, heck; you could post a video of yourself sleeping. Yes that may be boring, but it is still possible!

As you can see, the winner of this argument is YouTube. There is absolutely no reason why your YouTube advertisement should not be a part of your future marketing plan. At Stikii, we take this platform very seriously, which is why we chose this site to upload our soon-to-be-famous Stikii rap video. We plan to use the site to create buzz, followers, to attract future customers, and even just to entertain the general public. This video will be accessible to YOU, our fans, and anyone else, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We encourage you to tell your friends, share the link on Facebook and Twitter, or just enjoy it when you can! Check out the clip and be one of the first viewers! Feedback and comments are definitely encouraged!
